Color Challenge at Splitcoast

Woo hoo! I gotta play! Can you tell I am excited? I actually stamped for fun for me today. This card is for the color challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. The challenge was to use basic gray, purley pomegranate, and soft sky. These colors are absolutely stunning together. I love this color combination. I started with a basic gray base followed by a layer of purely pomegranate and then a layer of soft sky. The corners were punched with my ticket corner punch. The soft sky layer was run through my snowflake folder in my cuttlebug. I used stickles all over this card for sparkle. The next layer is my new white card stock from Papertrey. This stuff is awesome! It is so heavy and white as the snow! I used my cute snow wheel from the holiday mini on the white layer in soft sky and sewed around the edges. The circle medallion was cut using my nestabilites circle dies in my cuttlebug. I roughed up the white edge with my scissors after stamping the snowflakes with my papertrey Snowflake Serenade set found here: http://papertreyink.com/stamps_snowflakeserenade.html This set is so beautiful. I love the words in it! I love the way Nichole designs her sets to all work together. I added pearls and stickles to my flakes to dress them up. The pearls came from Ellen Hutsons store. I got the snowflake punches from Sweet Miss Daisies (Anna Wights) store. I added dots with my Signo Gel pen. The ribbon is basic gray Taffeta from Stampin'Up! with a piece of frilly white yarn added cause it reminded me of snow. We are getting ready to head out for our winter vacation in Big Sky Montana next month and I can hardly wait to see the beautiful snow covered mountains. It is the most beautiful place on the planet. This card definitely has me in the mood to vacation!
