Finally a stamp day!

I started with buckaroo blue and embossed with the cb swirl embossing folder. I used the birthday embossing folder on aluminum flashing I got at Home Depot. I used my mega scallop square punch twice sponging the edges with buckaroo blue. I used warmest regards for the happy birthday and my stampamajig to line it up. I used the swirls from delight in life for the strips of white. I used a little big of stickles in the circles of the swirls. My hubby had our neighbor boy tie me some flies for Christmas (just for my cards) I used one of the flies for the top by the happy birthday. I also sponged ink on the swirls with buckaroo blue. Enjoy!

I have been playing with my square fabriano cards this morning. I chose vintage violet cardstock. I put my violet cardstock through my paper sculpting sizzix die. Next I put the flower shapes through my swirl cuttlebug folder. I sponged more vintage violet ink to define the swirls. I also sponged around the edges of the fabriano card lightly and around where I put my flowers. The ribbon is from Michaels and Stampin'Up! stitched ribbon in vintage violet. I found some polka dot notecards at Michaels that I put through my paper sculpting sizzix die just for the centers of the flowers. I used sincere salutations from Stampin'Up! to emboss get well soon in black ep. I have an "All sorts of things" stitching guide that I purchased from lastingimpressions.com. I used that to do my paper piercing in a couple of places on the fabriano card. I wanted to keep it simple, but stunning. I hope I accomplished my goal! Let me know what you think!

Redoing

This is just a simple valentine. I used a 3x6" piece of white cardstock. I put it through my embossing folder and did dtp with real red on the hearts. I punched a real red scallop square with my mega punch. I used the little embossing folder to give it some depth. I then used my stardust gelly pen to fancy up the edges. I used two circle punches the bigger one in black cs and the smaller in whisper white. I stamped my "bug" with basic black. I used prismacolors and gamsol on the bug. I used my stardust pen on the spots and antanae. Oh and I gave my bug little cheeks. I think I will give it to my granddaughter with her socks I got her. TFL!

I figured it out!

Hey girls,
I need to know if any of you know how to remove comments from your blog. It seems I have been spammed. Grrr.. I went into moderate comments but found nothing. I have been helping my daughter move and get settled this past week. I don't babysit the granddaughter tomorrow. I will stamp and get something new on here then. I was doing so good at getting something on here every day or two. Sigh. I have also realized why I don't want to move anymore. Have a great day and check back tomorrow. I will try and stamp something wonderful!

Update! I figured it out all by myself. I have also made it so I have to approve the posts. Sorry if it causes more work. I can't believe people! Good grief!

Heartbroken

It is with heavy heart that I say that Donovan has passed on. I know he feels no pain, but I just feel so sad for his family. Say a prayer for them today and hug your loved ones a little closer. I have no words.

Not to be a downer....

, but I just wanted to add a little to my yesterday's post! There is a beautiful young mother in Colorado who is very bravely battling breast cancer. Please add her to your prayers as well. She is such a fighter and she is going to beat this ugly beast! After reading her blog this morning I have decided that one thing to help these wonderful people is with positive thoughts and stories! They need people around them to be upbeat and postive. Hugs to you Eliza! Check out her blog here:http://www.elizabrock.blogspot.com/

I didn't get to stamp yesterday. I had a busy day. My throat still hurts and my ears are feeling it too! My boys (Hubby included) went to Utah today to a hunting and fishing expo. I hope they have a fun and safe trip. My daughter Andrea and her husband Justin just rented a house yesterday! They will now have more room which will be excellent for them! Mykl showed me her room! She got a little confused at first and showed me Mommy and Daddys room. Hee hee! When she took me in her room she closed the door! What a doll. She also got big girl panties this week! I turned around for like 5 seconds on Thursday and she got them out of her diaper bag and put them on her head! She also found her "baby" (how she says it) binky and put that in her mouth. She is so funny! Have a great weekend everyone! I will try and get some stamping done and post pics! Winky

So very sad!

At the very beginning of my blog, I mentioned that I had a passion for cancer kids. I still have no idea where I can be of help to them. After watching about 6 of them die in the last six months my heart is broken. I am asking anyone who reads this to say a prayer for these kids. Donovan in particular, as his parents just received the absolute worst news a parent can hear. He is not expected to last through the weekend. I hate cancer and I hate what it is doing to these poor innocent children. It breaks my heart! http://www.caringbridge.org/in/babydonovan/
Penelope is another sweet little girl who has no hope left. They are grasping at straws just trying to save their little girl. http://www3.caringbridge.org/ny/penelope/index.htm
Also, please say a prayer for Mia's family. They are devastated! http://www.caringbridge.org/cb/inputSiteName.do?method=search&siteName=princessmia
Jake was the first child that I found and he still melts my heart when I see his sweet smile. The day he passed, I just sat here in tears. His family is doing all they can to help others remember him. http://www.caringbridge.org/la/jakeowen/ Jake, I know you are happy in Heaven!
Maybe for now just passing on these few names will help people see that there is a need out there for a cure for cancer. There is tons more research done in adult cancer than for children's. I don't understand this! Why would there not be more for children's cancer research. It is my hope that people will wake up and do what they can to help fund cancer research for children. St. Judes is a perfect place to start! http://www.stjude.org/
Have a great weekend everyone and hug your children just a little tighter and a little longer. Most importantly Believe!

acetate fun!

I am still recovering from the crud, but stamped a little today. I bought some 4 mil transparancies at Walmart a couple of weeks ago. I finally got to play with some. I used a 5 1/4 x 10 1/2 piece of vintage violet. Can I just say how pretty this color really is! Wow! I inked up my dotted background stamp with the vintage violet and kissed it to my adorable SAB flower. When I stamped it, it turned out too light for my liking, so I stamped each spot with a little pieces flower. I outlined my flower with my white gel pen. Next I lay the piece of transparancy over the top and used my big pieces flower to stamp with white stazon! Slick! I used crystal effects to glue on a bling to each flower. I used my cuttlebug to cut out an asterisks die on a chipboard coaster. I used my cropodile to set a copper eyelet in the center. I sponged some vintage violet ink to the cutout and used glue dots to apply it to the transparancy. I finished it off with a piece of stitched vintage violet ribbon.

Fabriano notecards!

I seem to have caught a bug yet again! No stamping for me today! :( I stamped this a couple of days ago. I used my new fabriano notecards! They are so beautiful and no need for extra fluff. The paper does great on its own. I stamped with black chalk ink and watercolored with buckaroo blue, so saffron, marigold morning and vintage violet. I used my sweet Fancy flexible phrases for the little Thank you. I used my watering can from Friends are like flowers that I have been wanting forever, just for the watering can! I know I will get lots of use out of it and maybe just maybe I will use the other stamps in the set as well. I used my purty vintage violet stitched ribbon to finish it off. Pretty simple. Oh and I used my stickles in the center of the vintage flowers. Maybe tomorrow I will feel better, so I can actually play in the stamp room. Copyright Stampin'Up! 1996-2007

More cuttlebugging!

While my granddaughter napped today, I played in my stamp room! I decided I wanted to watercolor and to play with sahara sand. I pulled out SU watercolor paper and masked using my new delight in life set! I used black stazon. I watercolored using cool caribbean and apricot appeal. I used bashful blue in the background. I used my ticket corner punch on the caribbean layer and pierced the edges. On the sahara sand layer I used my linen bg stamp in sahara sand and then ran it through with the script cuttlebug embossing folder. I put a layer of apricot appeal behind the caribbean. To finish it off I made a knot using my SU twill tape. Enjoy!

Stamping day and Cuttlebugmania!

I finally got a stamp day! I mounted the rest of my stamps from my sellabration order and then I just played with new toys! What a joy!
Big Smiley I am thrilled with my new cuttlebug and actually got to use it for some creations today. I don't know what I ever did without it. It is so fun to be able to use toys that are not Stampin'Up!. I love Stampin'Up! don't get me wrong, but in the last 10 years that is all I have used. I couldn't make something with a contraband, because what if someone wanted to buy something. I haven't had tons of sales. It is kinda funny too, cause I am getting my first recruit! A friend moved to another state and she and her daughter have finally figured out that stamping is for them. They don't have a lot of options store wise where they live. She wants to be a demo so she can acquire a pile of stuff to play with! Ha ha!
So with that said my pic of the day is a journal I made for my son's Girlfriend. She loved it. He picked out the paper and I just started cutting it up and modpodging it to the composition notebook. To decorate it, I used my cuttlebug. I used red tag sale alphabet to cut out a cracker box left over from the holidays. Each letter was cut out 3 times and then glued together with the modpodge. I then cut out the letters with the paper to match the journal. I glued that as well with modpodge. I sanded it to make it look aged. I used the asterisks die to cut the flowers. I added bling to each flower with a little crystal. She loves her journal! Enjoy! I will post tomorrow some of the other fun things I made! It makes me wanna stamp again today!
I am also adding my cute little fishie card! Enjoy him.

A few people at SCS have been asking if the BISK will work well with the cuttlebug. These images are made with the BISK. The first one in pink is using a fiskars texture plate. The second and fourth ones are using the BISK texture plates. The green one is using a brass template from Stampin'Up! I did find that it gives the best impression if I lightly spritz my cardstock with water first.

The sandwich order that I put on the fiskars texture plate is as follows:

Plate A, Fiskars texture plate, spritzed cs, black rubber bisk pad, c plate

The sandwich order for the brass stencil is as follows:

Plate A, plateB, stencil, spritzed cs, black rubber bisk pad, black bisk plate

I hope that helps some of you! Have a great night!

I hope everyone is having a Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I have come down with a sore throat and yucky sinus pain! I have lots to do, but don't feel like doing it! I am babysitting my dear Granddaughter today and I can hardly keep up with her. I just want to lay down and vegetate. Stamping would be fun, but I don't really have energy for that one either. So I love love love my cuttlebug 11Valerie11 over at SCS put copper shim stock through her cuttlebug! It is beautiful. I found it online, but no prices. I went to Home Depot yesterday and found a roll of copper flashing. It has a paper backing on it and is a very thin copper. I put it through my cuttlebug and it's purty! I will post a creation soon. I need a few minutes to spend in the stamp room. I am going to post my Mom's Birthday card today as it turned out pretty and will give you a nice pic to look at. Check out my gallery here for more information: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=8476 Copyright is by Stampin'Up!

I got a new cell phone over the weekend and we are fighting with the phone company to release my land line number. I can be reached now, but don't know how long it will be for. I can call out on my cell, but no calls in as of yet. I can receive text messages if your phone is with verizon. They are supposed to release my land line by Friday. As of today my land line is ringing in. What a headache!
