I had to play with this set and this color combination one more time. I am really loving the two dp together. I used Friends and flowers ss skit and Au chocolat. I did a circle with the chocolat paper and then cut it to fit the side of the card. The friends and flowers piece was cut with my creat a cut and the ric rac was created with the creat a cut as well. On the right side of the friends and flowers piece I stitched the edge with my sewing machine. I also used my linen bg stamp and chocolate chip on the caribbean cs. The flowers were stamped in creamy caramel, so saffron and chocolate chip. The edges were rolled in the chocolate chip ink to give them more dimension. I used my signo gel pen to add dots to the flowers. I put stickles in the centers to give them sparkle. The grosgrain ribbon is Stampin'Up!Thanks for looking!

Masculine birthday

My husband's boss is having a birthday tomorrow and I was asked to stamp! Dang I hate when that happens. I started with buckaroo blue as my base and stamped it with chocolate chip and my linen bg stamp. The next layer is chocolate chip distressing the edges with scissors and paper piercing. The next layers are Au chocolat dp that I used my brayer and chocolate chip ink on. The dry embossed layer is done using my birthday cuttlebug folder on chocolate chip cs. I distressed the edges with my scissors and then added copper cord. The words were done on buckaroo blue and sponged with chocolate chip then distressed with scissors. I stamped the words with chocolate chip craft and embossed with clear ep. I added copper brads to finish off and hit them with my hammer to make them look a little older. Thanks for looking.

Tropical delight

Oh my! I had so much fun with this one. Do you ever know when a card is done! I am in love with this one and want to make a whole bunch to match! I started with cool caribbean as my base and stamped it with my paisley bg stamp in cool caribbean. I used my scallop blade on my create a cut at the bottom. I used my Friends and Flowers SS kit for the embellishments on the bottom. I paper pierced above the so saffron dot border. I stamped my Rhonna Farrer swirl stamp in chocolate chip and used clear ep on it. The ribbon is from Michaels. I stamped my Island Blossoms (I love this set and will keep it forever!) and cut them out. I used my signo gel pen to put dots on the petals. I cut out the dp and chocolate chip centers with my asterisk die from cuttlebug. One copper brad is used in the center of the big flower. The small one I just used my stardust stickles to give it a little sparkle! Thanks for looking and enjoy the possibilities!

Trying to decide if I should share this or not! Someone might like it so here it is. It isn't my favorite, but I didn't have lots of time to work on it, so it is what it is.
K heres my supplies I used chocolate chip cs as my base. I used my cuttlebug swirl folder just a little over half way up. I pierced a line across the top of where the swirls stopped. The celery paper is from Stampin"Up!s new pallete o'prints 6x6 paper. I used fancy flexible phrases, snap stamps, and wonderful words in chocolate chip ink. The swirls are done in certainly celery and I used doodle this and the little swirl from fancy flexible phrases. The striped ribbon is from Jody's ribbon share. I also stitched the half circle at the top with my signo gel pen. Thanks for showing interest. I was really thinking this one was a dud!

I have been tagged! Wendy over at http://sunnywl.blogspot.com/ tagged me. Check out her blog. So now I will try and give you 7 facts about me.
1. When I was growing up I hated pizza! What kid hates pizza? I did love shrimp though and my parents would order pizza with shrimp on it. I finally learned to like it. Still don't care for peperoni though.
2. I used to chew my fingernails. Yucky! I finally put on fake ones and left them on for a long time so I wouldn't chew. I still have trouble, if I chew even one I have a hard time leaving it alone.
3. My father was killed in a car accident when I was 4 years old.
4. I love cats! I have had at least one pretty much my entire life. My kitty I have now was rescued by a neighbor. He wasn't even 6 weeks old and he had a huge chunk out of his back and his eyes were glued shut. She nursed him back to health and then he came to live with me. His name is Quasimodo (Quasi) and he has extra toes on his paws.
5. I used to hate country music to the point of sitting in the back seat with my ears plugged so I didn't have to listen to my parents yucky country stuff! Along came Brad Paisley and now I love it. Can we say Yummy! I still don't like the old stuff though! ;)
6. I have been a Stampin'Up! demonstrator for 10 years! I love stamping, it is my stress reliever. I try to stamp every day!
7. We have had chickens, pigs, a goat, rabbits, two ferrets, several dogs, numerous cats, fish, birds, a turtle. Hmmmmm... basically a farm. We live on one acre of land and we loved having lots of responsibilities for the kids when they were younger to keep them busy!

Love you giraffe

I needed some relaxing and this is what I came up with. My adorable granddaughter called tonight (well her Mom did) and wanted Grandma to listen to her say her prayers. She called both Grandma's on both cell phones. We listened to her Mommy help her say her prayers and then she said Love you night night! How cute is that? I made this card to give her tomorrow. (today now!) Chocolate chip (the new black) was used as the base and stamped with polka dots and petals. The flowers were stamped in chocolate chip and the dots were stamped in white craft. There is a strip down the left side that I paper pierced. The paper came from Ellen Hutson! She is so sweet. She sent it with my order just cause. The paper is called homespun collection by Memory Box. It is 6x6 and so cute! I roughed the edges of the homespun piece. Au chocolat is the polka dot piece and it is by Stampin'Up! I finally got my hands on a round scallop giga punch (no mega yet) I water colored the adorable giraffe from bundle of joy. I used my snap stamps to stamp love you on this piece. The flower is my flower die from my cuttlebug stuff. I cut it out with a chipboard coaster and used chocolate chip craft on it. It is stamped with the flower from polka dots and petals in craft white and then beautifully sparkled with my stickles. It has a flower brad in the center. I got my striped ribbon from Jody's ribbon share and put a bow on Miss Giraffes neck. I spritzed the piece with my spritzer. I hope you like it!

I am loving the new paper!

Wink

This new paper is scrumptious! I started with bordering blue as my base and used my swirls folder on the bottom, sponging it with a little chocolate chip. The top is stamped with my floral bg in bordering blue. The chocolate chip layer is stamped with the dot from mixed bouquet in versamark and embossed with clear ep. The edges are distressed. The so saffron layer is stitched around the edges. I wanted you to see how pretty the paper was so I tried to leave lots uncovered! The whisper white layer is stamped in basic brown and water colored. I put stickles in the centers of the flowers. I used my cuttlebug stamp die and a chipboard coaster for the simply adorable tag. I covered the center with the back of the so saffron paper. For the brown piece, I just used chocolate chip craft ink.

It is simply stunning! I love every piece front and back. This is the new Pallete O'Prints 6x6 sample pack of double sided designer paper from Stampin'Up! I will get more pics up later tonight! I used certainly celery as my base and stamped the big pieces and little pieces with versamark and embossed using clear ep. I used a white signo gel pen for the polka dots. Wonderful is stamped with chocolate chip, and framed with a frame from my stamp die from provocraft. The flower is stamped on whisper white with bravo burgundy and my paisley bg stamp, sponged around the edges with chocolate chip. I put a making memories brad in the center and finished the whole thing off with a bow from Stampin'Up!'s Prep School ribbon. Enjoy!

Yesterday I received my bunny image from Gina K. Designs. I know Easter is over, but spring is still here and they really look like they are in love. This is in honor of my son who is in love! On The Cheek 2 I started with a fabriano note card. I paper pierced it and then used linen thread to stitch the edge. The chocolate chip layer is distressed. I sponged the edges of the Au chocolate paper and used my ticket punch on it. The velvet ribbon is from Michaels on sale for $! this week! I used my oval punch and a piece of flubbed fabriano note card to do the bunny image on. It is water colored using my ink pads. There is stickles on their cute lil tails. Love was stamped with my fancy flexible phrases. Signo white gel pen adds a little highlight on the bunnies. Enjoy!

My father in law is celebrating his 80th birthday. This is the card I came up with for him. I used creamy caramel as the base and dry embossed about 2/3 of it with my textile embossing folder. I sponged chocolate chip ink on it to bring out the pattern of the embossing. Next I layed a layer of chocolate chip cs with three creamy caramel eyelets at the top right side. I paper pierced all across the bottom. I used a piece of the stripped Au chocolat paper aged with chocolate chip. The next layer is a piece of the Au chocolat polka dot paper distressed with chocolate chip ink, corner punched with my ticket corner punch. I stamped masterpieces of paisley on it with chocolate chip ink. Dad is cut from a chipboard coaster and my red tag sale alphabet. It is first colored with creamy caramel craft ink and then chocolate chip craft around the edges. The happy birthday is stamped in chocolate chip and bravo burgundy ink with my happy everything stamp set. I have a chocolate chip scallop border at the bottom created with my slit punch. A brad and a paisley die cut from a new cuttlebug die was added at the top edge. The grosgrain ribbon is the perfect match for bravo burgundy. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

My Grandpa is celebrating his 90th birthday and this is the card I made for him. I used sahara sand as the base and stamped houndstooth bg on the right third with chocolate chip, sponging around the edges. The chocolate chip layer is put through my cuttlebug textile folder and then brushed with vanilla craft ink to highlight the pattern. I used my ticket punch on the corners of it as well as the Au chocolat layer which was also stamped with my linen bg. Happy is from Polka dots and paisley stamped on creamy caramel. Birthday is from Happy everything. The big g is from Stampin'Up!'s onboard accents and covered with Au chocolat paper then sanded and chocolate chip smudged around the edges. The "randpa" part is stamped with my collage alphabet and torn and distressed on the edges. I used jute twine for the look. The big pieces is punched with a circle punch and a flower from my cuttlebug flower die is cut out with a chipboard coaster. Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter day with your families celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are waiting for our family all to arrive and I thought I would wish you all a good one. I love this time of year. I don't know where I would be without Jesus Christ in my life. It is unbelievable how much he gave so that we can live with our Father once again.

I also wanted to let you all know that it will be hit and miss with new stuff on here for a couple of weeks. I am on jury duty for the next two weeks. I am not really sure why, but they keep picking me. My husband has never had the honor. I won't know until tomorrow night if they have anything going on, so I will try and get some stamping done tomorrow. I am also playing nurse to my 18 year old son who had his wisdom teeth out on Friday. He has been a bit miserable, but I think he is improving.

Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy your families!

Happy Friday!

I am bouncing off the walls today! I just got my masterpieces of paisley stamp set and my new brads and my paisley die for my cuttlebug! Can we say I love paisley right now! Also Coleen Schaan has me as her featured stamper today on her blog Distinctive touches! How cool is that? You can check it out here: http://web.mac.com/cschaan1/iWeb/Site/Distinctive%20Touches/Distinctive%20Touches.html

Onto my card. I started out with buckaroo blue because it just screams paisley! The back piece I stamped with my well worn plaid. The bravo burgundy layer is distressed with the edge of my scissors. The whisper white layer is put through my favorite swirl embossing folder and then accented with buckaroo blue. Next layer is bravo burgundy which I pierced with my paper piercer and then layered my gorgeous piece of buckaroo blue with my masterpieces of paisley stamped all over it! Isn't it purty? I stitched it to the bravo piece with my sewing machine. I punched squares with my scallop punch and decorated them with my signo gel pen (keeping with the polka dot theme) So Happy was stamped and then embossed with clear ep. I watercolored my doodle this flower and put one of my new brads in the center. I am hooked on these making memories brads! I finished it off with burgundy and blue grosgrain ribbon and at the bottom a die using my paisley cuttlebug die! Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!

I used creamy caramel and buckaroo blue for the piece behind the blossom. I stamped my paisley bg in close to cocoa on the blue and then stitched the edges. Happy everything was stamped with bravo burgundy craft and embossed with clear ep. The flower was stamped on Au chocolat paper and then cut out. I stamped the doodle this swirl with bravo burgundy and then sponged the edges with some chocolate chip. I stitched around the flower and folded the petals to the back. They are stitched on back as well. The center of my flower is my cuttlebug flower die. I cut it out of a chipboard coaster and then used my craft ink to ink it in bravo burgundy and creamy caramel. I sanded off the edges. The flower in the center of the caramel piece is from polka dots and petals. I stamped it in bravo craft and then finished it with stickles in the center. I used a copper making memories brad in the center. The ribbon is a taupe grosgrain ribbon. I hope you like it!

sketch challenge

I wish I could remember where I saw this sketch! Must be old age. Googly Eyes I decided I really liked the layout so I went with it. ( Edited to add where I found the sketch, Amy Westerman on her blog :http://heartfeltgreetings.blogspot.com/2007/04/scrap-saturday-and-sketch-sunday.html) Also, I had this color combo laying on a piece of paper on my stamp table. Marigold morning is the base, layered with really rust next. The buckaroo blue layer was put through my cuttlebug using the textile folder. I lightly sponged really rust on this layer and rounded the corners. The next layer is the really rust stamped with my paisley bg stamp, rounded the corners, added eyelets and stitched around with chocolate chip marker. I punched my whisper white image layer with my square scallop punch. I stamped my image from give thanks with versafine black onyx and water colored it. Sponging around the edges defined the piece. Crystal effects was applied to the center of the flower to give it some shine and depth. The tag was a cuttlebug tag die, sponged around the edge and then stamped with fancy flexible phrases. The brads are making memories and I added two tiny prima flowers with stickles in the center. This card was created for a special young lady. I hope she likes it.
