Pics from retreat

The fabulous Marianne Walker teaching us wonderful things to do with our copics! So much fun! Stacey and Eli watching intently so they won't miss a thing.

Dinner at Olive Garden our last night in Phoenix. Front Julie Overby (my roomie! mwah), Debbie Seyer (love you and miss you girl!) and in the back Stacey Caron (love you Stacey!) and me. Ok so I love them all! It amazes me how much we all connected like from the very beginning. I feel like all these fabulous talented women are my Sisters. We bonded from the first words out of our mouths.

This is our first night in Phoenix and we are eating. Hee hee, see a pattern here. On the left is Karen Taylor (love you babe!), Stacey, Mary Pfaff, and Kim Hupke (our fabulous education director). On the right starting in the back: Karen Hunsaker, Debbie Seyer is in there but you can't see her, me and Jennifer Davis. I have a cool story for you. We found out who made the team the end of Feb. We have been chatting back and forth on line since that time so we could get to know each other better before retreat. About a week before we left for retreat we were talking and Jennifer sent a pic of a kindergartner and asked if I recognized this child. I was like "Shut Up!". I babysat Jen when I was a newly married, new Mom. It was so good to reconnect with her again. She grew up, but she is still the sweet lil girl I used to take care of. How fun is that? I can't even begin to thank Stacey, Kim, Cathy, Eli and Jeff enough for the fabulous time and bonding we were able to participate in. The cross promotional companies were so generous and Stacey showered us with fabulous Spellbinders products. She even snuck into our rooms and left fun gifts on our beds. Cute little purses with lipgloss, frames, stuff to soak our tired feet and take fabulous baths, candles, yummy body spray, soft fuzzy socks! It was amazing. I will never ever forget this retreat. K, I am off to get some more DT stuff done. Gotta meet those deadlines. :)

Wednesday DT challenge

The challenge at ATS today is to do something out of the box. When I issued the challenge it sounded easy, well my brain is fried. Haa haa With that said, I took the lame way out. The flowers are my out of the box flowers from my S4-136 Classic Heart and S4-137 Classic Scalloped heart die templates. From now on so you know what I am talking about I will start the numbering with the smallest die working out from there. I used die number 1 (being the smallest) in both sets. Clear as mud? The flowers were cut with barely banana cs. The base is cool Caribbean and soft sky is the embossed piece. I used my fabulous I2-1001 Paisley impressabilities template. I love these things. You can cut them up and just use pieces of them. Because of that I would suggest having two, one to cut up and one to keep as one piece. I did like the impression best when spritzed lightly with water. The image was cut and embossed using the S4-185 LG Octagon number 5 and the basic grey dp using the S4-187 Large Scalloped Octagons number 5. The ribbon is May arts and buttons basic grey. Copics used were: B34, B37, Y21, Y23, YR61, YR65, YG93, YG95, YG97, W1, 0, and BG10 for the airbrushing. To get the texture on my bird, I used my colorless blender and just dotted over and over on the bird. Spica glitter pens were added as bling. Check the ATS blog for more fabulous out of the box projects. I hope you all have a fabulous day and don't forget to enjoy the possibilities.

More retreat pics

(* Edited to add, The two girls in the pic are my daughter and granddaughter, not me. I am done having babies.) I had to add this pic. I love how she is kissing her little sister. She draws pictures for her to and puts them up Mom's shirt so lil Sis can see. About a week ago she poked her finger in Mom's belly button and told her to come out. Giggle. Hopefully real soon this little one will arrive. Have a great day and enjoy the possibilities.

I have spent the day cleaning, throwing out and making room for stuff. I have organized what I did bring home so that when the boxes with the rest show up, I will have somewhere to put it all. I really, really need my expedit shelves. Too bad Ikea is 4 hours away. I hope you all have a fantastic evening. Check back tomorrow, and I will show you some more. :)

All That Scraps release time again!

Diane has been hard at work yet again! She created this adorable Ladybug Friends set. It will be released Monday night along with the other C.C. Designs sets and Amy has a new one. I used real red as my base on this. The vellum is cs vellum from SU. Copic colors are E31, E49, R46, R89, C1, C3, C5, C7, W1. I finally got a tutorial made for the flowers.

Cut out 8 of the smallest classic scallop heart. If you are doing a bigger flower cut 5 of the smallest and 5 of the next size up. I stamped these with my polka dot background stamp from All That Scraps.

I sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink.

Stack them on top of each other and punch a 1/8" hole in the bottom of the hearts. In this pic, I punched a little too close to the bottom. Move up a bit higher.

Take the whole pile and scrunch em! I undo and redo several times to really rough them up.

Next take a brad and arrange the petals in an even circle. Open up the brad in the back. Pick up your flower and scrunch the petals and work with them until you have a pretty flower. :) I hope you enjoyed the process. Sorry about the couple of out of focus pics. I hope you get the idea. Stay tuned tomorrow for another super cute set! Have a great day and enjoy the possibilities.
