Spring is in the air finally!

Yesterday at SCS Emily posted a color challenge of cool caribbean, certainly celery and elegant eggplant. I am not done playing with my doodles yet and used it for my card. I used Stampin'Up watercolor paper and stamped the images with basic brown (the new black) I watercolored with the challenge colors. I used little crystals on the flourishes and stickles on the flowers. It is really sparkly! I love it. My color spritzer in elegant eggplant marker spritzed some color here and there. The celery layer of cardstock was distressed with my scissors. I used my polka dot stamp from my Polka dots and petals set from the spring mini. I love this set and am so excited at all the ideas I have in my head to use it for. Back to the story, I stamped the polka dot in celery and punched it out with a circle punch. I glued them to the bottom of the eggplant layer. I did a line of paper piercing down each side and then finished it off with my new ribbon from Jody's striped ribbon share. It is yummy stuff! I thought about hoarding it, then decided I am going to use every last inch. It is beautiful! Oh and by the way, there is snow all over the ground and it is only 19 degrees outside, sigh! Spring has to be right around the corner right?
I also wanted to bring up a post from Joan over at Paperlicious. http://paper-and-ink.blogspot.com/2007/02/stampers-neurosis.html She has an awesome point! I stamped today for fun and to enjoy myself. I hope people enjoy what I did, but if they don't I had fun and really used my time to de-stress. This is what stamping has been all about for the last 10 years for me. I enjoy paper crafts. It really helps me to sit down and pull out pretty paper and ink and just play! Thank you Joan for putting it in perspective!

MIA

Sorry I have been missing in action the past few days. We are having some family issues that I need to take care of so I will probably be missing for a few more days. Check back in a few days. I am actually working on something adorable and can't wait to share. I just need to finish it up and then I can post. Thanks for your understanding.

Swirls, ribbon and flowers

Creamy caramel is the base of this delicious confection! I put about 2/3 of it through my swirl embossing folder and ran it through my cuttlebug. Chocolate chip craft was brushed across it to accent. Chocolate chip is the distressed layer with vanilla craft swirls stamped all over. I backed this layer with cranberry crisp. Holes are punched where the swirls had dots to give it more texture. My scissors are what I used to distress the edges. The flowers are stamped with basic brown and watercolored with buckaroo blue, true thyme, and close to cocoa ink. They are popped up with Stampin Dimensionals. The ribbon is Stampin'Up! and Michaels. A hodgepodge swirl clip tops the ribbon off and finishes the swirls, ribbon and flower theme.

lil tin bucket

I made this lil bucket for a neighbor. It is a simple little thing really. I punched holes in it with my crop-o-dile and set pink flower eyelets. I used one of my daisies from the prima share at Jody's blog. (http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/) She is doing a fun new ribbon share! ( no money to spend, darn) I stamped a heart from doodle that, water colored it with reinkers, and ran it through my xyron. Dazzling diamonds glitter finished it off. Ribbons are from Stampin'Up!, Michaels, and fiber from Walmart. I got the note cards and bath fizzies at Michaels $1 spot. The altered lip gloss is from Target $1 spot. Nothing fancy, just fun!

Rose sympathy

I needed a sympathy card for a neighbor who lost his Mother. I used chocolate chip for the background piece on this card. I used the swirl from doodle this inked with vanilla craft ink. The cranberry crisp layer was stamped with cranberry crisp ink with my paisley bg stamp. I pierced the sides of the cranberry layer with my Stampin'Up! tool kit. I used a corner rounder on the always artichoke and the vanilla layer. I stamped my linen bg in creamy caramel on the vanilla layer. The roses were stamped in cranberry crisp and the leaves with always artichoke. I used Michaels brown organdy polka dot ribbon and Stampin'Up! stitched cranberry crisp ribbon at the top. The with sympathy is stamped with chocolate chip craft ink and embossed with clear ep. I used a swirl clip from my hodgepodge hardware and two tiny prima flowers with making memories brads to finish it. I used my spritzer tool to spritz chocolate chip ink over the roses.

Doodlicious

I chose bashful blue as my base. I cuttlebuged the swirl embossing folder about 2/3 of the way up. I doodled at the top and sponged it all with chocolate chip. I put a layer of chocolate chip with some paper piercing at the top. I used my scissors to distress the edges of the whisper white piece and stamped with basic brown. I watercolored all the images with reinker. I used my stardust glitter gel pen to highlight the flowers. I spritzed chocolate chip ink with my color spritzer tool and then sponged the edges with chocolate chip. I also added a few dots to the flower centers with my marker. I finished it off with a piece of yummy ribbon I found at Michaels.

I have decided this is my new favorite set and my favorite color combination! I am loving them both. I have been playing in my stamp room today, but I am having a hard time coming up with anything wonderful. I will keep at it. Until then enjoy this piece!

Color idea book

Last summer, I finally bought my rubicoil. I had drooled over it for over a year! I bought it from here: www.laminatorwarehouse.com I had to try it out as soon as I got it and decided to make a little book to put my color ideas in. If I see a color layout that I love, I put the colors in my book. When I want to try something new and fun, I look in my book. Well I have never showed anyone my book. Here it is! I was a dork and didn't buy mixed bouquet when it was in the mini catalog! LOL! I waited for the new catty and prayed it would be in there. When it was it was the first thing I bought. I used my new in colors for the book. Cranberry crisp is at the top. I stamped with cranberry crisp ink and very vanilla craft. The next layer is from the Spring flowers collection of paper. I sponged some cranberry crisp ink on it. The next layer is true thyme with the bouquet wheel that matches the set. I used versamark ink to wheel it on and used iridescent ice ep to emboss it. I then used my Stampin'Up! tool kit to pierce the paper on the top and bottom. For the final layer I used the cranberry crisp cs and used my beautiful new paisley bg stamp that I had purchased first in the new catalog as well! I inked it up with the vanilla craft ink and then heat set with my heat tool. I sponged some true thyme ink over it to age it. I also had to use my new chipboard letters! Love the chipboard! I inked it with cranberry crisp and stamped the paisley bg stamp in true thyme, finishing it by sanding the edges. I used the A to Z accents to do the true thyme background in my hodgepodge frame. I used my classic alph. to stamp color in cranberry crisp. I stamped my flower in cranberry crisp and then water colored it with ink from the lid. I inked it in versamark and then used iridescent ice ep to emboss it. I used embroidery thread to sew it on. Stampin'Up! ribbon finishes off the look! Wow I wrote a book! Enjoy!

Doodles of Fun!

I got to play with my doodle this and doodle that tonight. I am having so much fun! I chose chocolate chip and bashful blue as my colors. I made a 5 1/4 x5 1/4" square card with chocolate chip cs. I used my textile cb embossing folder on the bottom of the card. I layered a piece of bashful blue cs on top stamped with chocolate chip doodles. I added a few dots with my white gel pen. I used my oval punch to make tabs out of whisper white cs. I sponged chocolate chip ink on the ovals. I used making memories mini flower brads to keep them on. I stamped my flowers in basic brown ink and watercolored with bashful and chocolate chip reinkers and then cut them out. I used stickles on the flowers. They look so sparkly! I used a sizzix corner die in my cuttlebug to do the corners. My Stampin'Up! tool kit finished them off with some paper piercing. Michaels brown polka dot organdy ribbon was tied in a knot through the middle. I want to play all night now! Winky

New Stamps!

Yesterday I got new stamps from the new Spring Mini catalog. When my granddaughter leaves today, I will finish getting them together and stamp something fun! I got the doodle sets. I am so in love with them and can't wait to play. I am going to use the flourish ones on my sons and soon to be daughter-in-laws wedding announcements. They want me to do their pictures too. I took a beautiful one of them at the condo this past November. They loved it and want me to do their pics. Have a great day!
